Yolanda Sánchez (@sedaencolor_) has been working these months in iAtelier, within the Crafting Europe project, prototyping flexible molds for the realization of felt forming. With this project, Yolanda uses parametric design and digital fabrication techniques to explore the possibilities they offer in the manipulation of this material. In addition to its possible applications in fashion, modular architectural interior design and furniture.
The way of working with felt requires a delicacy and practice that the EXarchitects and Fábrica de Fabricantes teams were impressed with. The geometries that Yolanda achieves with her technique are impressive.
He has designed new tools for the realization of felt forming. In his project he has used 3D modeling and 3D printing of fdm with flexible filament to design and manufacture a new tool to facilitate his manual work with felt.
