Xtable Mayice Studio

Xtable designed by Mayice Studio is the first project in which we collaborate for the development of furniture and design evolution, using parametric design techniques and digital fabrication. Xtable, is a work table for two people who share use in the central space. In the first place the structural X stores office utensils, pens, pencils, books, magazines... removable furniture, which occupies the minimum volumetric space. Therefore Xtable is composed of three pieces of wood that generate the use, avoiding legs in the corners and facilitating the assembly, without screws or extra substructure. In addition, the boards are made of pine from sustainable forests.

Xtable was designed by Mayice Studio. This is the first project in which EXarchitects and Mayice Studio collaborate for the development of furniture and design evolution, using parametric design techniques and digital fabrication. For EXarchitects it has been and always is a pleasure to collaborate with them.

Xtable is a work table for two people who share use in the central space. In the first place the structural X stores office utensils, pens, pencils, books, magazines… removable furniture, which occupies the minimum volumetric space. Therefore Xtable is composed of three pieces of wood that generate the use, avoiding legs in the corners and facilitating the assembly, without screws or extra substructure. In addition, the boards are made of pine from sustainable forests.

The horizontal board has dimensions of 2000 × 700 mm and 20 mm thick, the inclined boards that form the ”X’‘ have dimensions of 700 x 900 mm and 30 mm thick. As a result, this structure and design avoids legs in the corners, thus allowing freedom of movement.
