For the new headquarters of EXarchitects, it was proposed to make a series of furniture that would show the concerns and design aspects that inspire us in our day to day. That is why we designed the Parametric Bar for the office area, a piece that divides the spaces in a light and elegant way without taking away the luminosity from the environment.
In addition, given the need to give a new approach to the space and having little room available, we designed the bar with a support on the floor and one on the wall. The piece is inspired by the trunks of vine plants. These plants ascend twisting on the guide structure giving a sense of dynamism to the space.
Designed using parametric design tools such as Rhinoceros + Grasshopper and therefore made using digital fabrication techniques in our fablab in Villaviciosa de Odón. It has been made of birch plywood. As a result, this material, which, due to its composition, offers greater visual expressiveness than other woods, as it is made up of uniform layers of different shades. As a consequence of the desired aesthetics, the post-processing of the piece consisted of sanding to unify and varnish to give an easy-to-clean finish.
We show you below images of the installed Bar:
